Description

    When your MUA(e-mail client) does not support APOP authentication or SMTP authentication, this program do authentiocation between the mail-server and your MUA. (for example Outllook Express does not supports APOP and SMTP CRAM-MD5 authentication)

    As an additional featue , It supports Pop over SSL and SMTP over SSL. It provide you secure communication between your MUA and The Mail-Server.

Environments

    Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP

Installation
    It is very easy to install.

    Extract bba*.zip in your favorite directory and create a shortcut on the Desktop to bbauth.exe.

    Thats all!

    (NOTE)

    This program can work as a service program on Windows 2000/XP.
    When you want to start this program as a service session, once you must register this program as a service.

    To register this program as a service program,

    type in cosole window as

    bbauth.exe /service

    after finishing every settings.
Settings
Operation: [Menu] -> [Tool]-> [Setting]

  • Admin

      Current version ignore this,write your name here.

  • Port#

    • POP

        Blueberry AUTH listen this port# for POP3 protocol. If you have no idea about POP port#,leave here as default value.

    • SMTP

        Blueberry AUTH listen this port# for SMTP protocol. If you have no idea about SMTP port#,leave here as default value.

  • TimeOut

    • POP
        Time out for POP3 protocol.
    • SMTP
        Time out for SMTP protocol.
  • Telnet Proxy

    • Enable Telnet

        When you want to access to the remote mail-server via TELNET,check this. BUT , if you have no idea about TELNET proxy , do not check this.

    • Server

        This is a TELNET proxy server name.

        When you checked [Enable Telnet], you must fill here as below.

        proxy-server-name

    • Port#

        Telnet Proxy Server Port#.

    • How to ...

        The way how to connect to the remote mail-server.

        %s is replaced by mail-server name and %d is replaced by that port#

  • Options

    • Generate Message-Id

        When you check this and your MUA does not generate the Message-Id header for sending mails, Blueberry AUTH generates the Message-Id header for sending mails.

    • Generate Date

        When you check this and your MUA does not generate the Date header for sending mails, Blueberry AUTH generates the Date header for sending mails.

    • Protocol Log

        When you need protocol logs,check this.
        Blueberry AUTH make a protocol log file in a day, and delete it after 7 days.

  • Settings for your MUA(e-mail client)

    • Settings of POP Server

        When you need not any of APOP authentication or Telnet access or POP Over SSL , do not this settings.

      • POP Server

          localhost

      • POP Port#

          POP Port# that Blueberry AUTH is listening.

      • User-ID

          Your POP Account-ID@mail server name:port#[/ssl]

          (Examples-1  :  When you need APOP authentication)

            When your POP Account is blueberry , POP mail server name is pop.mail.com and port# is 110.

          • blueberry@pop.mail.com:110

        (Examples-2  :  When you need Pop Over SSL)

          When your POP Account-ID is blueberry , POP mail server name is pop.mail.com and port# is 995

        • blueberry@pop.mail.com:995/ssl
        • This case APOP authetication is auto detected.

    • Password

        Your POP password

  • Settings of SMTP Server

      When you need not both of SMTP authentication and Telnet access, do not this settings.

    • SMTP Server

        Localhost

    • SMTP Port#

        SMTP Port# that Blueberry AUTH is listening.

Register SMTP Server

When you send e-mails via Blueberry AUTH for SMTP authentiocation or Telnet access, Blueberry AUTH needs the information about your SMTP server.So,you must register your SMTP Server using this fuction.

Operation: menu -> tools -> Register SMTP Server

  

  • Domain

      This is the domain part of your e-mail address which appears as From header of sending e-mails. Blueberry AUTH search the registered SMTP server using this domain.

      (Example)

      When my e-mail address is blueberry@mail.com, domain means mail.com

  • SMTP Server

      Your SMTP Server name.

      (Example)

      When my SMTP server is smtp.mail.com and port# is 25.

      smtp.mail.com:25

  • Authentication type.

      Choose an authentication type one o

      • No Authentication
      • LOGIN/CRAM-MD5 (Auto detect)
      • POP Before SMTP
      • CRAM-MD5
      • LOGIN
      • PLAIN

  • POP Server

      When you choosed POP before SMTP as an authentiocation type, You must set POP Server name here.

      (Example)

      When my POP server is pop.mail.com and port# is 110.

      pop.mail.com:110

  • Keep connection while ...

      When you choosed POP before SMTP as an authentiocation type, You must set period of connecting to the POP Server for authentication. If you have no idea about this , leave here as default value.

  • User-ID

      User-ID for SMTP auth.

      When you choosed POP before SMTP as an authentiocation type, This user-ID means POP User-ID.

  • Password

      Password for SMTP auth.

      When you choosed POP before SMTP as an authentiocation type, This password means POP password.

  • SMTP Over SSL

    When you need SMTP over SSL, choose one of

      • SSL V1
      • SSL V2
      • SSL V23(Auto)
      • TLS V1
